Dermatologists Warn of Hair Loss Linked to Weight Loss Drugs

Dermatologists are reporting a rise in 'Ozempic Hair', a condition involving excessive hair shedding linked to the rapid weight loss caused by GLP-1 medications like Ozempic and Wegovy.

A 2025 study published in PubMed Central found that nearly 70 percent of GLP-1 users reported some degree of hair shedding, often caused by metabolic shock and nutritional deficiencies.

Medical experts emphasize that the condition is generally temporary and reversible, but warn against using these prescription medications without proper medical supervision or dietary counseling.
