
The Jharkhand government has invited student protest leaders for a fourth round of talks on Monday, August 17, 2026, following 23 days of demonstrations in Ranchi.
Protesters are demanding a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in the JPSC Combined Civil Services and JSSC-CGL recruitment exams, which have drawn hundreds of students since July 25.
Demonstrators burnt effigies of CM Hemant Soren and Rahul Gandhi on August 16, threatening to gherao the Chief Minister's residence on August 20 if their demands remain unaddressed.
