H1N1 Vaccine Urged Amid Rising Cases in Delhi and Bengaluru

Delhi recorded 1,344 H1N1 cases by early August compared to 229 during the same period last year, while Bengaluru also reports a surge in seasonal influenza infections.

Dr. R.S. Mishra of Max Smart Hospital advises that H1N1 protection is now included in the annual seasonal influenza vaccine, which should be administered at least two weeks before expected outbreaks.

The WHO recommends annual vaccination for high-risk groups, including children aged 6 months to 5 years, pregnant women, older adults, and individuals with chronic health conditions.
