
PepsiCo inaugurated its fifth foods manufacturing plant in India across 44.2 acres in Nalbari district's Danguapara, marking its first foods factory in the Northeast region.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma noted that at least 75% of the unit's 700 direct employees will be women, while PepsiCo India CEO Jagrut Kotecha stated the company aims to place India among its top 10 global anchor markets.
The facility plans to scale up local potato sourcing by supporting over 5,000 partner farmers and engaging 2,200 agri-entrepreneurs across Assam and West Bengal.
