Bombay High Court to Deliver Verdict on Tarun Tejpal Acquittal

The Goa bench of the Bombay High Court is set to deliver its verdict on Thursday regarding the Goa government's appeal against the 2021 acquittal of Tehelka founder Tarun Tejpal.

Tejpal was acquitted by a sessions court in 2021 in a 2013 sexual assault case, a decision the state government challenged citing the complainant's credibility and a disputed apology email.

Justices Dr. Neela Gokhale and Amit Jamsandekar reserved the order on July 30 after hearing arguments involving CCTV footage, WhatsApp chats, and testimonies from the 2013 incident at a Goa resort.
