Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani met with Israeli intelligence officials in Jordan for US-mediated talks aimed at de-escalating tensions following an Israeli strike on a Syrian airbase.
The discussions focused on reviving a security agreement and establishing mechanisms to prevent conflict spillover, following Israel's bombing of the Abu Duhur airbase in Idlib last Thursday.
Syria is demanding an Israeli withdrawal to positions held before the December 2024 fall of Bashar al-Assad and the full restoration of the 1974 disengagement agreement in the Golan Heights.
