Anuparna Roy's 'Lovers in the Blue Night' Wins Venice NETPAC Award

Filmmaker Anuparna Roy won the NETPAC Award for Best Asian Film at the Venice Film Festival for her Orizzonti title 'Lovers in the Blue Night'.

The film marks Roy's second consecutive Venice award, following her Best Director win for 'Songs of Forgotten Trees' in 2025.

The NETPAC jury commended the Mumbai-set film for its sensitive portrayal of migrant workers, urban displacement, and marginalised lives.
