Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with 20 private space firm CEOs on Friday to discuss positioning India as a global hub for space innovation and talent.
Government data shows private investment in the sector surged from $100.5 million in 2021–22 to $618.5 million by March 31, 2026, with 440 startups currently active.
The government aims to grow India's share of the $600 billion global space industry from the current $9 billion to $40-45 billion over the next decade.
