The Registrar General of India developed a structured interaction framework named PRAMAN for training 3.4 million enumerators for the second phase of the census.
The second phase will require enumerators to collect data on sensitive categories including religion, caste, language, disability, migration, fertility, and economic activity.
Population enumeration for Census 2027 will run from December 1, 2026, to January 4, 2027, in select poll-bound states, and conclude by March 1, 2027, across the rest of India.
