A special National Investigation Agency court in Chhattisgarh sentenced 10 convicts to death on September 16 for the 2013 Jhiram Valley Maoist attack that killed 27 people.
The conspiracy was planned nearly three months in advance during a February 2013 meeting, which included route surveys, logistics arrangements, and a rehearsal near Ekkam-Chakpal.
The court rejected the defense argument of coercion, ruling that the accused actively participated in the conspiracy and targeted leaders such as Mahendra Karma and Nand Kumar Patel.
