Greater Chennai Corporation identified aedes mosquito larvae in 3,326 houses across 15 city zones last week, with 302 dengue cases reported in the first three weeks of August.

Thiru. Vi. Ka. Nagar recorded the highest infestation with 610 homes testing positive, while other affected areas include Tondiarpet, Royapuram, Adyar, Perungudi, and Sholinganallur.

The GCC has deployed 2,076 domestic breeding checkers and 470 portable fogging machines daily to combat the surge, which exceeds the 282 cases reported in July.
