
Twenty-year-old Nasser Hamid, who fled Sudan in 2023, has achieved a grade 4 in GCSE maths after previously passing his English exam in the UK.
Hamid, who arrived in Ipswich at age 16 without English language skills, has also qualified as a football referee with support from the Ipswich Town Foundation.
Supported by Suffolk Refugee Support and Suffolk New College, Hamid has officiated league matches and aims to progress to professional refereeing in the Premier League.
