UN Warns DR Congo Ebola Outbreak is Growing Exponentially

The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo is growing exponentially, having already caused over 2,300 deaths from more than 5,000 recorded cases, according to the African Union health agency.

The World Health Organization has allocated 70,000 doses of the Ervebo vaccine to the country, with 20,000 doses designated for a late-stage trial against the Bundibugyo virus strain.

Gavi, the global vaccine alliance, is providing $13 million in total funding, including $7 million for vaccine shipments and $6 million to support vaccination efforts in high-risk areas.
