Renowned mountaineer Nirmal 'Nims' Purja has been confirmed dead following a massive avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The incident occurred during a high-altitude expedition, claiming the lives of 11 climbers caught in the sudden snow slide.
Purja, a former UK commando, was celebrated for his record-breaking mountaineering feats, including summiting all 14 peaks above 8,000 meters.
