State-owned NMDC has commissioned a 2 million tonne per annum pellet plant in Nagarnar, Chhattisgarh, part of a ₹5,427-crore integrated iron ore processing and transport project.

The infrastructure includes a 135-kilometer slurry pipeline connecting Bacheli operations to Nagarnar across 61 villages to reduce road transport dependence and lower logistics costs.

The initiative supports NMDC's long-term goal of scaling iron ore production capacity to 100 million tonnes annually, targeting 60 million tonnes in fiscal year 2027.
