Pakistan Captain Fatima Sana Fined for Gesture

Pakistan women’s cricket captain Fatima Sana was fined 10 percent of her match fee by the ICC on September 7, 2026, for a code of conduct breach.

The penalty follows an incident during the Asia Cup match against India where Sana gestured toward the pavilion after dismissing batter Shafali Verma.

Sana, who became captain in October 2024, also received one demerit point, marking her second disciplinary offense within a 24-month period.
