A 52-year-old cab driver named S Indushekar was arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly murdering his wife and six members of her family over a 15 to 20 day period.
Police suspect the killings began around October 16 due to a dispute over his wife's frequent visits to her mother's home in the same city.
Authorities have recovered one body near Nandi Hills in Chikkaballapur district and formed a special team to search for the remaining missing victims.
