Supreme Court Judge Justice Sandeep Mehta sent three letters to CJI Surya Kant in August demanding the transfer of Rajasthan High Court Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma.
Justice Mehta alleged rampant nepotism, administrative malpractices, and the arbitrary shifting of cases to the Acting Chief Justice's bench, despite the latter being due to retire on September 26.
The letters claim that Justice Sharma, who has held the post for over 10 months, frequently threatened judicial officers and wasted public money on a 100-room guest house project.
