Keralam Senior Citizens Bill to Be Tabled in Assembly

The Keralam Senior Citizens (Care and Protection) Bill, 2026, scheduled to be tabled in the Assembly on Tuesday, focuses on protecting the rights, dignity, and social security of the elderly.

The legislation proposes establishing a State Senior Citizen Protection Unit and a District Senior Citizen Protection Forum in each district.

Other provisions include the registration of senior care centres, a geriatric care certification framework, and Senior Citizen Cyber Fraud Cells in all cyber police stations.
