The World Bank raised India's GDP growth forecast for FY27 to 7.1% from 6.6% in April, driven by better-than-expected first-quarter growth of 7.8%.
The international financial institution noted that India's exports performed better than expected and provided the main upside to the growth outlook despite global uncertainties.
Private consumption is expected to remain the primary growth driver, although a rainfall deficit through August is likely to weigh modestly on rural demand.
