The United States announced sanctions on Thursday targeting 27 companies, six individuals, and 22 vessels under Operation Economic Outcast to disrupt Iran's oil trade.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated the measures aim to neutralize Iran's remaining shadow fleet of ageing tankers used to transport petroleum products.
The State Department also sanctioned 10 entities, six individuals, and five vessels involved in Iranian petroleum and petrochemical trade.
