Supreme Court Refuses to Reconstitute High-Powered Committee on Delhi Protests

The Supreme Court stated on Thursday that it will not reconstitute or alter the five-member high-powered committee headed by former judge R Subhash Reddy.

The committee is tasked with examining allegations of police excesses against student protesters in Delhi and violence against security personnel.

The bench observed that it will not proceed on a presumption of bias against its appointed panel and will allow open hearings for submissions.
