Keralam judge booked under Motor Vehicles Act after minor son's fatal car crash

The Kochi City police arraigned an Additional District Judge as an accused under Section 199A of the Motor Vehicles Act as the registered owner of the luxury car driven by his 17-year-old son in a fatal accident.

The crash occurred at Maraparambu on Container Road in Cheranalloor in the early hours of Sunday, killing 55-year-old scooter rider Jayabalakrishnan on the spot.

The Juvenile Justice Board granted bail to the teenager on Monday citing the absence of previous criminal antecedents, sparking protests from local residents and youth outfits demanding harsher action.
