
The Sports Ministry announced 17 Arjuna Award recipients for 2025 on Tuesday, marking the lowest number of honourees since 2017 and the first time no Khel Ratna was awarded.
Notable athletes named include decathlete Tejaswin Shankar, badminton players Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand, and chess player Divya Deshmukh, with no cricketers included in any category.
The ministry also named Dronacharya awardees including Parveer Singh and Chhote Lal Yadav, while the Army Paralympic Node in Pune received the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar.
