India has called for international intervention to hold Pakistan accountable for the "ruthless" use of force against peaceful protesters in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) following recent unrest.
The Ministry of External Affairs reported that at least 40 civilians have been killed and many others injured in a security crackdown that began on July 27, 2026.
Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that the Pakistani government's labeling of protesters as "enemies" and the admission of weaponized "mujahideen" involvement warrant an independent investigation by global organizations.
