A full emergency was declared at Kempegowda International Airport Terminal 1 in Bengaluru on Saturday after a suspected hijack threat message was found in an IndiGo flight lavatory.
IndiGo flight 6E-451, en route from Bengaluru to Lucknow, immediately turned back to its origin to execute mandatory anti-sabotage and safety procedures upon landing.
Airport security and law enforcement took control of the isolated aircraft while ground personnel provided refreshments and updates to passengers awaiting safety clearances.
