Passenger vehicle sales surge 36.5% in August 2026

India's passenger vehicle segment posted sales of 4,39,309 units in August 2026, marking a 36.5% year-on-year growth according to SIAM data.

Three-wheeler sales grew 22.8% to 93,764 units, while two-wheeler sales rose 10.5% to reach 20,34,698 units during the same month.

SIAM Director General Rajesh Menon attributed the robust growth to a lower base from the previous year and noted that festive demand is expected to provide an additional boost in Q2.
