India's September Unemployment Rate Stands Stable at 5%

India's overall unemployment rate stood at 5% in September, remaining stable compared to August according to the Periodic Labour Force Survey by NSO.

Rural unemployment remained broadly stable at 4.2% while the urban rate rose marginally from 6.8% in August to 6.9% in September.

The overall Labour Force Participation Rate for persons aged 15 and above remained virtually unchanged at 55.5% compared to 55.6% in August.
