US intelligence officers have warned that China might attempt to steal F-35 fighter jet technology during the proposed $24-billion arms deal between the US and Saudi Arabia.
Analysts raised concerns that Beijing could leverage its military and security partnership with Riyadh or conduct espionage to acquire sensitive defence technology.
The State Department forwarded the package for 48 aircraft and spare engines to two congressional committees in June as part of the approval process.
