Delhi University professor Yogesh Singh began his second five-year term as Vice-Chancellor on Thursday, becoming the first Indian to serve two terms in the post.
His reappointment followed a 2023 amendment to university statutes allowing a second five-year term, notified by the Union Ministry of Education in July after presidential approval.
During his first tenure, Singh oversaw key initiatives including the National Education Policy 2020 rollout and undergraduate admissions through the Common University Entrance Test.
