IIT Kanpur Launches Greater Than Us Campaign to Raise $1 Billion

IIT Kanpur launched its 'Greater Than Us' fundraising campaign aiming to raise $1 billion by March 2029, as announced by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on October 14, 2026.

The Press Information Bureau reported that ₹4,155 crore has already been committed by alumni, donors, corporate partners, and the government for research and infrastructure.

Rajnath Singh supported proposals to establish a School of Defence Technologies and a National Military Drone Technology Hub at IIT Kanpur.
