India's gross direct tax collections for fiscal year 2026-27 up to September 17 rose over 15 percent year-on-year to around ₹14.32 lakh crore, driven by strong receipts across key segments.
Net direct tax revenue after refunds increased approximately 13 percent to ₹12.12 lakh crore, while total tax refunds jumped nearly 29 percent to ₹220,026.72 crore.
Corporate advance tax collections recorded an 18.09 percent annualised surge to ₹416,083.59 crore, signalling continued buoyancy in underlying economic activity.
