Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta Passes Away at 57 Due to Head Injury

Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta, known for directing crime-thrillers such as Shootout at Wadala and Kaante, passed away at the age of 57 on October 30, 2026.

Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit confirmed that Gupta died at his home following a head injury.

Gupta made his directorial debut with the 1994 film Aatish: Feel the Fire and directed several notable action dramas throughout his career.
