Swyer syndrome is a rare genetic condition where individuals born with 46,XY chromosomes develop female reproductive and anatomical structures.
The condition typically goes unnoticed in childhood and is usually diagnosed during adolescence due to delayed puberty or primary amenorrhoea.
While irreversible, effects are managed through hormone replacement therapy, gonad removal to prevent tumors, and assisted reproduction.
