The Indian National Congress appointed former Olympian and Jalandhar Cantonment MLA Pargat Singh as the new president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee.
Singh succeeds Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, who submitted his resignation to Rahul Gandhi in Delhi following months of internal differences within the state unit.
The three-time MLA will lead the party organization and coordinate various factions ahead of the upcoming 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.
