Sweden's general election too close to call as left bloc leads

Sweden's general election remained too close to call on Monday with the left-wing bloc marginally ahead by roughly 20,000 votes after over 90% of ballots were processed.

Preliminary counts projected that Magdalena Andersson's Social Democrats would likely secure a 176-to-173 seat majority over Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson's conservative bloc.

Counting will resume on Wednesday to include late early votes and overseas ballots before a final winner is determined.
