ISRO successfully launched the EOS-05 Earth observation satellite on Friday using the GSLV-F17 rocket, marking a significant recovery following the failed GSLV-F10 mission in August 2021.
Weighing 2,367 kg, the EOS-05 is the heaviest satellite ever launched by a GSLV vehicle and is designed to operate from a geosynchronous orbit at approximately 36,000 km altitude.
The satellite features an assured seven-year lifespan and will provide high-frequency imaging for agriculture, disaster management, and monitoring of weather events like cyclones and cloudbursts.
