Authorities seized 22,138 litres of suspected adulterated and expired ghee worth ₹1.60 crore during raids at two establishments in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar district on Sunday.
The CID Crime Branch, local police, and food safety officials arrested three individuals, identified as Ram Tayal, Mukesh Kumar, and Vikas Kumar, during the statewide crackdown ahead of Diwali.
Preliminary questioning indicated that expired and returned ghee was repackaged with fresh labels, while palm oil and vanaspati sourced from Gujarat were allegedly used in the adulteration.
