India's first Vande Bharat freight EMU train has commenced trial runs between Ahmedabad and Mumbai Central under the Western Railway zone to check performance and safety.
Developed by the Chennai-based Integral Coach Factory, the 16-coach cargo rake features parcel loading roller floors, reefer facilities, and modern braking systems.
During earlier trials on the West Central Railway, the empty freight train reached speeds of up to 145 kmph with oversight from RDSO and ICF teams.
