OpenAI to press ahead with US data-centre expansion, says CFO

OpenAI will continue its US data-centre expansion despite a Democratic midterm sweep raising fears of tighter scrutiny, CFO Sarah Friar announced.

OpenAI stated it will stop using non-disclosure agreements with public officials and will share construction plans with local residents.

The company is raising capital following a 70% quarter-over-quarter business growth in the third quarter of 2026.
