US Administration Refunds $100 Billion in Tariffs After Supreme Court Ruling

The US Customs and Border Protection has refunded approximately $100 billion in tariffs following a February Supreme Court ruling that invalidated the administration's use of emergency powers for trade duties.

The Supreme Court's 6-3 decision struck down tariffs imposed under the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act on goods from over 90 countries, including Canada, Mexico, and China.

While $100 billion has been returned, a group of 25 US states filed a legal challenge on Monday against new 10-12.5 percent levies introduced by the administration last month.
