Congress Appoints Sachin Pilot as Punjab In-Charge in Reshuffle

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge appointed Sachin Pilot as the AICC general secretary in-charge of poll-bound Punjab in a major organisational reshuffle announced September 5.

The move aims to resolve intense factionalism between former CM Charanjit Singh Channi and PCC chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring ahead of early 2027 assembly elections.

Randeep Singh Surjewala will now oversee Gujarat and Karnataka, while former Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel has been moved to handle party affairs in Assam.
