Mother and daughter electrocuted by snapped live wire in Anakapalli district

A 28-year-old woman and her 55-year-old mother were electrocuted after coming into contact with a live support wire in Andhra Pradesh's Anakapalli district.

Continuous heavy rains had soaked and peeled the insulation off a galvanised iron support wire, causing it to snap into a residential verandah.

The victim's husband sustained injuries while attempting a rescue with a wooden stick and is currently receiving hospital treatment.
