The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has imposed a penalty on AWL Agri Business, the manufacturer of Fortune oil, after a sample failed Vitamin D fortification tests.
The regulatory action follows a series of quality checks conducted on fortified sunflower oil samples collected from the company's Ahmedabad facility.
This penalty is part of a broader FSSAI crackdown on food safety compliance, which also recently included a halt on sales for other food products failing to meet nutritional standards.
