Dharwad Tahsildar Arrested by Lokayukta Police While Accepting ₹50 Lakh Bribe

Lokayukta Police arrested Dharwad tahsildar Sachchidanand Kachanur red-handed while he was allegedly accepting a ₹50 lakh bribe on September 16.

The accused official had allegedly demanded ₹1 crore and one acre of land to rectify title records for a 33-acre plot in Yerikoppa village.

A special court remanded the official to 14-day judicial custody until October 1, while Union Minister Pralhad Joshi demanded a judicial inquiry into the case.
