NMC Adds 13,186 New Medical Seats, Taking India's Total to 1.4 Lakh

The National Medical Commission approved 13,186 new MBBS seats across 27 states and Union Territories, raising India's total medical seat count to 1,40,214.

Karnataka recorded the highest increase by adding 1,650 seats, bringing its total to 15,745 across 76 medical colleges.

Tamil Nadu added 1,250 seats, Bihar added 1,240 seats, and Uttar Pradesh added 1,200 seats, while seven states and Union Territories recorded no increase.
