Kerala High Court Orders CBI Probe Into Missing Soldier Case

The Kerala High Court ordered the CBI to investigate the 2012 disappearance of Subash Chandra Bose, a rifleman with the Tripura State Rifles who went missing during a train journey.

Justice G. Girish issued the order on a petition by the soldier's father, noting that civil society owes a responsibility to support soldiers during a personal crisis.

The CBI had contended the court lacked territorial jurisdiction and cited a rare possibility of tracing the missing person after 14 years, but the court ruled otherwise.
