The Supreme Court on Wednesday warned the Election Commission of India of an adverse inference if it fails to trace and produce the missing video recording of the 2023 vote count in Sringeri.
The missing footage is central to a petition by unseated Congress leader TD Rajegowda challenging a recount that overturned his victory in favour of BJP candidate DN Jeevaraj.
The court posted the matter for hearing on February 15, 2027, after the ECI stated the original counting video could not be traced.
