Tribal students protesting for basic school and hostel facilities were detained at Mumbai's Tilak Bhavan on Tuesday and taken out of the city in private buses.
The students marched from Nashik to demand an independent probe into student deaths and ₹1 crore compensation for three girls who died from snakebites in Gadchiroli.
The Congress party provided shelter to roughly 200 to 300 students after police denied them permission to hold a demonstration at Azad Maidan.
