Rising Costs of School Supplies Strain Household Budgets in Netherlands

A survey by the Poverty Fund of over 500 aid organizations reveals that 60% are receiving more requests for help as parents struggle to afford basic school supplies.

Nearly 69% of organizations reported that families cannot afford laptops, while 31% noted an increase in school absenteeism linked to the lack of necessary equipment.

Henk de Graaf, director of the Poverty Fund, stated that the financial strain is causing children to experience exclusion and declining academic performance.
